BlueBird Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc. is an independent and locally owned orthotics and prosthetics clinic. It was established by owner Jeffrey L. Sutherland, CO who is also the certified orthotist of the practice. Jeff established BlueBird Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc. in beautiful, sunny San Diego, CA in 2001 and has successfully continued its growth over the past 6 years. He has worked extensively with the pediatric population in San Diego county and through the various clinics in the Childrens Hospital of San Diego.
Orthotics
Orthotics are defined as the application and manufacture of devices which support or correct human function. It is derived from the Greek root "ortho" which means "to straighten."
Prosthetics
Prosthetics are defined as "artificial limbs" or an artificial extension to replace a missing body part. The word derives from the Greek root meaning "to replace an addition."
